Music has played a significant role in Betsy's life since she was a little girl. She began singing in church choir and later starred in musical roles in grade school. Betsy was a member of the St. Louis Children's Choir for four years. Though she was familiar with all the "churchy" songs, the first record she owned was "La Bamba" by Ritchie Valens and her first tape was Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet". Betsy reflects: "I remember watching Jon Bon Jovi on MTV and thinking how cool he was for being a rock star."
In high school Betsy took voice lessons and sang in her high school choir performing in various school musicals. "Attending an all-girl high school allowed me to focus on music and follow my dream of singing my heart out in front of an audience."
In college at Mizzou, Betsy joined a sorority and became the song leader for rush, serenades, and alumni functions. "The fraternity boys would place their couches and lawn chairs on their front lawns to sit and watch while I conducted the 120 girls in song before rush started. It was nerve racking but humorous and a lot of fun."
After college, singing in weddings became a part of Betsy's past time. "Being a wedding singer has been very fulfilling but being part of an awe-inspiring band is such an honor and privilege! I am still the new girl but look forward to many exciting events and fond memories!"
